Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf today launched the disbursement of the first tranche of the Kano State Youth Empowerment Programme, supporting young entrepreneurs with ₦150,000 each. A total of 5,384 youths (men & women) benefitted. The Governor urged recipients to invest wisely, noted that a second tranche will follow soon, and reaffirmed the administration’s focus on youth empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
At the 65th Independence Day ceremony, Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to education and development, noting that nearly one‑third of the state’s 2024‑2025 budgets were allocated to education. Key achievements include exceeding UNESCO benchmarks, recruiting 6,000 new teachers, and absorbing 2,000 volunteer instructors into permanent service. The event featured colourful processions by security and paramilitary units, and vibrant performances by students.
