Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has strongly denied allegations made by his former Secretary to the State Government, Baffa Bichi, describing him as a "shameless liar" with baseless claims aimed at tarnishing reputations.
According to a statement issued by the Governor's spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Director General of Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Governor Yusuf rejected all allegations made by Bichi via social media, calling them "false and laughable."
The Governor particularly refuted claims that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, receives N2 billion monthly from the Kano State Government. "Senator Kwankwaso is one of the purest and most selfless individuals in Kano. He has never demanded a penny from this administration, nor has he interfered with the government’s finances," Governor Yusuf asserted.
Governor Yusuf questioned Bichi's timing and motives, noting that he served in the government for over a year without raising such concerns until after his dismissal due to alleged poor performance and administrative negligence.
"You were in this government for more than a year. If you had any integrity, you would have spoken out while still in office. But you chose silence until you were sent packing. That exposes your real motive," the Governor added.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and good governance, urging the people of Kano to disregard the allegations, which he described as "the noise of bitter politicians who have lost relevance."
